Creative Sonoma Workshops

Creative Sonoma is a new countywide effort to promote the arts in our community. Formed in 2014, the agency is launching a series of professional development workshops in March and April for artists and nonprofit arts organizations. These workshops are free of charge and first-come, first-serve. Workshop #1: What are Curators Looking For?

Led by Preston Metcalf, Chief Curator of the Triton Museum of Art, this workshop is designed to help visual artists better understand the process and priorities of galleries and museums when selecting artwork to show.

Workshop #2: Grant Writing Basics

This workshop is suited for any nonprofit arts organizations that are interested in learning how to better craft grant proposals and research funding opportunities. This session will be facilitated by Audrey Wong, an independent arts professional.

Workshop #3: Governance Basics

This workshop is directed toward both board and staff members of nonprofit arts organizations. Nancy Glaze, Interim Director of Creative Sonoma, will take you through the process of board development and engagement, roles of staff and board and the fundamentals of good governance.
