Staff Appreciation Time!
For Emily, the wildfires that struck the community in 2017, served as a call to action. As a way to give back to her community, Emily fell into the world of nonprofits at CFSC. Here, she was able to provide support to people back in 2017 and continues providing for resources for other issues she is passionate about such as education and the environment.
Emily’s role at CFSC has expanded as her skills and knowledge continue to grow as well. She began working directly with donors and earlier this year became a philanthropic advisor, providing guidance and direction for many of our donors.
She graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in History, and an emphasis in Middle Eastern History after spending a year abroad in Cairo. She continues to learn, with a special interest in languages.
When not at work or learning, she spends her time primarily outdoors—camping, hiking, playing with her two dogs, and spending time with her fiancé. Emily is passionate about the environment and animals, which is where much of her volunteer time goes, as well. She enjoys fostering animals, beach clean ups, and supporting historical societies.
