Maria Sosa Ramos believes in the power of hard work and teamwork. At Community Foundation Sonoma County, Maria is happy to have found a place where she can see and feel her coworkers all working collaboratively to achieve a common mission, as well as providing selfless and meaningful work for the county.
Maria joined the Community Foundation as part of CFSC’s internship program in November 2020. During her time here, she has partaken in multiple projects helping her expand both her knowledge and skills. One thing Maria is most proud of accomplishing while at the Foundation so far, is her participation in CFSC’s Giving Opportunities. Being that this is how many of our donors become aware of what organizations and causes to support, Maria’s involvement and research skills were very valuable.
Being only 19 years old, Maria has already encountered multiple accomplishments. In her previous endeavors, Maria was recognized by Congresswoman Jackie Speier, while at the Annual Dream Club Dinner hosted at Sequoia High School.
Maria was also an intern at the San Mateo County Office where she conducted research and proposed new approaches to ending domestic violence and gender violence in her community.
Maria is currently enrolled at Sonoma State University where she will be starting her third-year majoring in political science and philosophy. Maria enjoys spending time with her family and being the second oldest in her family, she enjoys looking after and spending time with her younger siblings. She also enjoys the outdoors and admiring beautiful scenes such as Sonoma State’s campus.
