The 2024 Animal Welfare grant program is currently closed. Invitations for this program will be sent again in Fall 2025.

Grant Program Overview

We know that a vital approach to supporting the health and well-being of Sonoma County dogs and cats is making spay/neuter and other veterinary services available to the entire community, regardless of ability to pay. We also recognize that veterinary services may be too expensive for low-income families, causing additional financial hardship.

The Community Foundation Sonoma County Animal Welfare grant program supports organizations dedicated to providing low-income residents with affordable spay/neuter and other veterinary services for cats and dogs in Sonoma County.

Grant Program Criteria

  1. Requesting organization is a Sonoma County 501(c)(3) nonprofit or an organization fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
  2. Program provides spay/neuter and other veterinary services to low-income families in Sonoma County.
  3. Organization conducts bilingual outreach and education to raise awareness about support for spay/neuter and preventive care to communities who may not otherwise have access.

How To Apply

Applications will be made available to those who are invited to apply. If you have a program or project that you believe fits the Animal Welfare grant program criteria, please contact Jose Castro Gambino at jcastro@sonomacf.org.
